David A. Bauchiero Sr., 79, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Sunday July, 17, 2022 at his home surrounded by all his family. He had been the loving husband of Mary Ann (Sarmuk) Bauchiero for 59 years.
Dave was born on June 20, 1943 in Pittsfield, MA to the late Joseph and Jeannette (Kobus) Bauchiero. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Crisis aboard the U.S.S. Cony. Dave was a longtime parishioner at St. Thomas Church. He worked as a systems analyst at American Electro Products for many years and owned and operated DAB Solutions as a website designer. Dave was a member of Southington Amateur Radio and had contacts around the world as a HAM operator. He was also a longtime member of the Southington Sportsmen’s Club. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed building all of the trim in his own home. Dave donated much of his time volunteering and supporting the Special Olympics, Dream Ride and ERRACE.
Dave was a family man. He enjoyed the time spent at his lake house and the memories from those summers will always be cherished by his family. He was his grandson’s biggest fan and bought the largest TV he could find to watch his hockey games. You could easily find Dave enjoying a great card game with his grandkids. He would happily cook his chili or meatballs on demand with a call from his grandson. In his last few weeks of life, the thought of the famous Teo’s hot dogs from his hometown or his favorite Pepe’s pizza put a smile on his face. After his retirement, he and Mary Ann enjoyed bike trips out West on his Harley. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife Mary Ann, Dave is survived by two children, David A. Bauchiero Jr. and his wife Lori and Kim Cerra, both of Southington and 5 grandchildren; David A. Bauchiero III (Dr. Lynn Bauchiero), Lauren Bauchiero (Aaron Markure), Dillon Bauchiero, Dean Bauchiero, Frankie Cerra, 3 great-grandchildren, Bindi and Hunter Markure and Lucas Bauchiero and many nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased his son, Joey Bauchiero, one brother, Joseph Bauchiero and his son-in-law, Frank Cerra.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave’s memory may be made to the Disabled American Veterans (https://www.ihelpveterans.org/).
