Darrell M. Theriault Sr., 87, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday October 14, 2014. He had been the loving husband of the late Dorcas H. (Batchelder) Theriault for 49 years.
Born April 7, 1927 in Howland, Maine to the late Edmund and Mary (Nadeau) Theriault, he had been a longtime Southington resident.
Darrell retired from International Silver after many years of service. He also worked as a Meat Cutter at Tops Market for many years. He was a longtime communicant of St. Thomas Church and Mary Our Queen Church. Darrell loved music, flowers, gardening and spending time with friends and family. He was always very proud of his grandchildren.
Darrell is survived by his son Darrell Theriault Jr. and his wife Inge of Bristol, with whom he made his home; two daughters: Brenda Carmody and her husband Patrick of Jacksonville, FL and Debra Bard and her husband James of Southington and 6 grandchildren: Graham, Kirsten, Matthew, Rebekah, Peter and Tyler. He is also survived by 4 sisters; Phyllis, Alice, Ruth and Patricia, all of Maine and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Edmund Theriault and 5 siblings: Joanne, Wayne, Clayton, Donald, Johnny and Billy.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville with a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Southington. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington.
