Clayton F. Lumbra, 77, of Southington, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at HCC of New Britain. He had been the loving husband of Patricia (Zajko) Lumbra for 53 years.

Born in Duxbury, VT on December 18, 1937, to the late Clayton and Cecile (Piette) Lumbra, he had been a longtime Southington resident.

Clay enjoyed restoring classic cars. He attended many local and state car shows and won several top awards. In the summer, he enjoyed joyriding his 1950 Willys Jeepster. Clayton loved all animals and he leaves behind his beloved dog Abby and fresh cat Zeke.

In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by two daughters: Tracy Bazzano and Phyllis Lumbra, both of Southington; his granddaughter who was the light of his life, Sarah Bazzano of New Britain, two brothers, Robert Donna and Raymond Lumbra and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Roger Donna and James Lumbra.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Clayton's memory may be made to the Meriden Humane Society, 311 Murdock Ave. Meriden, CT 06450.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. For online condolences and directions, please visit www.plantsvillefuneralhome.com.
