Claire C. Munson

Claire Crandall Munson died Monday April 22, 2013 at her home. She was born November 22, 1923 in Waterbury, to the late Harris Crandall Sr. and Helen (Parmalee) Crandall. She lived most of her 89 years in Southington. After graduating from Lewis High School, she married her high school sweetheart, the late Walter W. Munson. She worked for many years as a legal secretary to several local attorneys. She was very proud of being the longest living member of her church, Grace United Methodist Church in Southington. She appreciated each day of her life and felt blessed to have a loving family.

Claire is survived by her two children: Karen Rudolewicz and her husband Bruce of Forestville and Kevin W. Munson Sr. and his wife Nanette of Southington. She also leaves behind eight loving grandchildren: Kevin W. Munson Jr. and his wife Shannon, James Munson and his fiancé© Jennifer Davis; Laura LaRosa and her husband Paul; Danielle Munson; Joel Munson and his wife Tracy; Alan Rudolewicz and his wife Katie; Brittany Munson and David Munson and his girlfriend Alyssa Bernier; eight great-grandchildren: Gavyn and Reilly Munson; James Munson Jr.; Sydney and Ava LaRosa; Taylor, Joel Jr. and Matthew Munson; her beloved brother Harris "Quig" Crandall Jr. and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Claire's name may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington, CT 06489 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

A celebration of Claire's life will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday April 27, 2013 at the Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St., Southington. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Plantsville Funeral Home has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.
