Claire A. DiGiacomo

Claire Ann (Fortier)(Augelli) DiGiacomo, 79, of Southington, wife of Mark Manson, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at her home.

Claire was born on May 2, 1944 in Waterbury, CT to the late Albert A. and Lucia M. (Boisvert) Fortier. She lived in Cheshire for 32 years before moving to the Plantsville section of Southington in 2003. She worked in the accounting department of the Star Supply Co. of New Haven, retiring in 2010.

Claire was a parishioner of St. Aloysius Church and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed dressmaking, quilting and crocheting. She was a member of the Southington YMCA, Southington Senior Center and a volunteer for Friends of Southington Library.

She is survived by 2 sons, Peter A. Augelli 3^rd of North Branford and Joseph P. Augelli of Deer Park, NY, 3 grandsons, Nicholas and Adam Augelli, Joseph Keith Augelli, and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Augelli and one great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her grandson, Corporal Micheal A. DiGiacomo U.S.M.C, whom she and the late Mr. DiGiacomo adopted and raised since he was a toddler.

She is also survived by 2 brothers, Robert D. Fortier and his partner Dennis Dunn of Tamarac, FL, Ronald A. Fortier of LaGrange, ME; three sisters, Helen A. Lockwood and her husband Tom of Hudson, FL, Doris R. D’Angelo of Clermont, FL, and Irene D. (Gabrielle) Bellemare of Plymouth. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in New St. Bridget Cemetery, Cheshire. Calling hours will be held before the Mass from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
