Chester P. Pacyna, 85, passed away Sunday October 31, 2010 at Walnut Hill Care Center in New Britain. He was the beloved husband of the late Gilmay(Dubois)Pacyna.

Born on September 14, 1925 to the late Albert (Wojtek) and Pauline (Sondej) Pacyna, he had been a long-time New Britain and Plainville resident.

Chester served his country in WWII and worked as a machinist at Fafnir Bearing for well over 40 years. He was very athletic, enjoying success as a pitcher in fast pitch softball leagues for many years and was an accomplished bowler. He also enjoyed golfing. Chester will be remembered for his kind spirit and willingness to help anyone. He was loved by all of those who knew him.

He is survived by 2 step-sons; David Germano of Plainville and Allen Germano of Manchester and 1 sister, Florence Moorecroft of New Britain. He was predeceased by 1 sister Irene and 9 brothers: Cazzie, Henry, Walter, Edward, Leo, Alfred, Stanley, Teddy, and John.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday November 3, 2010 from 4-7pm at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. For online condolences and directions please visit www.plantsvillefuneralhome.com.
