Chester M. Misko, 73, of Southington passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at the Village Green in Bristol. He had been the loving husband of the late Gretchen (Owens) Misko.

Born on March 8, 1941 in New York City to the late John and Anna (Holota) Misko, he had been a longtime Southington resident.

Chet proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Edmund's Manufacturing after 40 years of service where he built a component currently on the Hubbell Telescope. He was the former Governor of the Moose Lodge in Southington. He was a lifelong Red Sox fan and an avid outdoorsman.

Chet is survived by his son Brian Misko of Wolcott and his daughter Kimberly Cote of Wolcott and 3 grandchildren: Katelyn, Jakob and Kristopher Cote. He also leaves behind his brother John Misko of Plainville, his sister-in-law Barbara Misko of FL and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother William Jerry Misko and his sister Jayne Scanlon.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday July 3, 2014 at South End Cemetery, South End Rd., Southington. Calling hours will be on Wednesday July 2, 2014 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
