Chester S. Lubinski

Chester "Chet" Lubinski, 87, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Feb. 22, 2015 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford, CT. He had been the loving husband of the late Carmela (Orofino) Lubinksi for over 60 years and step-father to her 4 children. He was born in Naugatuck on May 12, 1927 to the late Joseph and Stella (Zyzniewski) Lubinski.

Chet proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Marksman. He retired from Pratt and Whitney in 1989. He enjoyed his retirement bowling, fishing and delivering hot peppers and cakes his wife "Curley" was making for friends and family. Chet was active in the Calendar House and enjoyed his time with his senior friends.

He is survived by his brother John Lubinski and sister Hedwig "Hedy" Aleksinas, both of Waterbury; 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, Stanley and Joseph and his sisters Stella Telesco, Frances Pelkey and MaryAnn Muzi.

A celebration of Chet's life with military honors will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Calling hours will be held before the service from 4 - 5 p.m at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
