Charles R. Young

 Charles “Chuck” R. Young, 67, of Southington, CT, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

Chuck was born on July 20, 1957, in Barre Montpelier, VT. He graduated from Southington High School, Class of 1975 and went on to work for the State of CT as an auto mechanic for many years. After his retirement, he worked at Casertano’s Greenhouse & Farms in Cheshire.

Chuck was a NASCAR fan, and his favorite driver was Mark Martin. He enjoyed working on cars, gardening, fishing, and going out to eat. He will be remembered for being a flannel wearing, goofy and stubborn man who absolutely adored his granddaughter.

He is survived by his best friend and granddaughter, Abigail Hadlock, his daughter, Harmony Hadlock, his father, Charles R. Young, and brothers, James Young-Lopez, and Bobby Young.

He was predeceased by his loving mother Melba and his brother Larry.

Chuck’s family wanted to extend a special thank you to the nurses and doctors at the Hospital of Central Connecticut for their kindness, compassion, and the excellent care they provided to him during his cancer treatment.
