Charles S. Masewicz Jr.,91, of Southington passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday February 9, 2012 at his home. He had been the loving husband of Evelyn (Wright) Masewicz for 65 years.
Born in Southington on February 27, 1920 to the late Charles W. and Bernadine 'Lucy' (Gladke) Masewicz, he had been a lifelong Southington resident.
Charles retired from General Electric after 29 years of service. He served his country in the Air Force for 3 years 10 months in Europe during WWII. He owned a small farm on West. St. and farmed it most of his life.
In addition to his wife Evelyn, he is survived by his daughter Patricia DeAngelo and her husband Thomas of Southington, his son Robert Masewicz and his wife Diane of Southington; 4 grandchildren: Lynelle Smailes and her husband Scot of Southington; Tommy DeAngelo and his wife Sarah of Park City, UT; Tammy and Jules DeAngelo of Tahoe City, CA; Glen Masewicz of Southington and 3 great-grandchildren; Olivia, Joshua and Grace. He was predeceased by his sister Anne Eastwood and his brother Edward Masewicz.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30am from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville on Monday February 13, 2012 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington. Burial with full military honors will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Sunday February 12, 2012 from 3-6pm at the Plantsville Funeral Home.
