Charlene E. (Stone) DeSorbo, 84, of Port St. Lucie, FL and formerly of Southington, CT, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis “Louie” DeSorbo.
Charlene was born on March 9, 1940, in Windsor, VT to the late Lawrence and Albertine (Charbonneau) Stone.
She was selfless, kind, fun to be around and tougher than most people ever knew. She spent most of her young life as a survivor and a protector of those in need. She always made sure her friends and family were taken care of and it was not a rare occurrence to have multiple friends and family randomly show up at her and Louie’s house to spend time with their family. Charlene was an amazing cook and homemaker, making “world famous” meatballs and sauce. Even while working long hours, her house never seemed to have a single thing out of place. She did all this while making sure everyone who came to her home was welcome and well fed! She spent the last phase of her life traveling as far as Iceland, playing canasta with her friends, doing water aerobics, crocheting and baking. She also spent weekends trying new restaurants with friends or “her boys” Jesse & Tyler who were never far from her side. She deeply loved her children & grandchildren and greatly missed her late husband. Charlene was also a member of the Cascade’s Women’s Club and St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
Charlene is survived by her children: Darlene (DePastino) Wilton, David DePastino (Erin), Lou DeSorbo (Deb); seven grandchildren, Joe Wilton, Sherri Wilton, Jesse Wilton (Tyler), Cory Zibell, Kyle Zibell, Michael DeSorbo and Logan DePastino; three great-grandchildren, Serenity Nieves, Trinity Nieves and Gabriel Nieves; four siblings, Bobby Stone (Donna), Valerie Langlois (Mario), Laurie Tomassi (Charlie) and Keith Stone (Angie); as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Louie, Charlene was predeceased by her daughter, Deanne (DePastino) Zibell, her brother, Michael Stone and her sister, Denise Daly.
