Carolyn E. Smith

Carolyn E. (Pearson) Smith, 78, of Plantsville,CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 23, 2022.

Carolyn was born on January 16, 1944 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Everett and Alice (Unger) Pearson. She was a longtime resident of Plantsville and Santa Maria, California.

Carolyn loved music, art, and nature.  She lived many years in Plantsville before moving to coastal California in 1985 and returned to Plantsville in 2015.   Carolyn enjoyed her time teaching at St. Thomas Jr. High, singing in the Plantsville Congregational Church choir and Southington Festival Choir, and participating in youth theater.  She will be remembered as a giving person always willing to lend an ear or a hand to those in need.

Carolyn is survived by 2 sons, Scott Smith of Plantsville and Erik Smith of Santa Maria, CA, 3 beloved grandchildren, Jake and Megan of Plantsville and Bryce Smith of Santa Maria, CA, daughters-in-law, Andrea and Ruthy and many good friends. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her brother, Paul Pearson, formerly of Prescott, Arizona.

In lieu of flowers donations in Carolyn’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
