Carol J. Flugrad

Carol Janice (Molander) Flugrad, 69, of Southington, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, June 14th 2023. She was a cherished member of the community, known for her quiet and loving nature.

Carol loved singing and was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Southington choir. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, finding immense happiness in the presence of her family.

Simple pleasures brought great delight to Carol. A cup of coffee was a constant companion, and Carol had a deep affection for cats. She enjoyed shopping, sharing sandwiches with friends at Panera on Tuesdays, and embarking on trips to the Dominican Republic with her husband Charles and friends. Exploring the beauty of New England during summer vacations with her sister Laurie was a cherished tradition.

She worked diligently for 17 years at Emhart Corporation and later retired as an Attendance Clerk from the Wallingford Board of Education. Carol earned an associate degree of Office Administration from Briarwood College.

Carol was predeceased by her father, Burton Molander and is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles Flugrad; her mother, Lilly Molander; her sister, Laurie Yedynak and brother-in-law, Stephen Yedynak; her brother, Thomas Molander; her son, Edward Flugrad and daughter-in-law, Marisa Flugrad; her son, William Flugrad and daughter-in-law, Heather Flugrad; and her grandson, Joshua Flugrad.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Carol Flugrad will be held on Saturday, June 24th at 11 am at First Congregational Church of Southington, 37 Main St, Southington.
