Carol M. Conrod, 71, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, February 22, 2015 surrounded by her family at UCONN Health Center after a courageous battle with ALS. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mildred Mansolf, a graduate of Cheshire High School and a longtime resident of Southington.
The greatest joy in Carol's life was time spent with her family and friends. Carol loved all animals, especially her beloved cat Sweetie and dogsitting for Coco. She was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and UCONN women's basketball team. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling with her friends.
She is survived by her children, Allison Sandstrom and her husband Thomas of Bristol, Deborah Warren and her husband William of Southington and Albert Hayes II and his wife Karen of Bristol. She was the loving grandmother to Sabrina, Shelby, Madelynn and Nathan. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her sister Lois Weed of Temple, TX, brother Robert Mansolf of Southington, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother, father and sister, Barbara. She was also predeceased by her first husband of 32 years, Albert Hayes Sr., and later her second husband of four years, Alfred Conrod.

Calling hours for Carol will be held Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville (860-621-4656). A funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
