Carol A. Della Bitta

Carol Ann Della Bitta, 70, of Southington passed away peacefully surrounded by her siblings on Friday January 20, 2012.

Born in Southington on July 20, 1941, to the late Albert and Bernadette (Saucier) Della Bitta, she had been a lifelong Southington resident.

Carol participated in the Association for Retarded Citizens. She worked for more than 30 years at the Kuhn Employment Opportunities. She was an exceptionally dedicated and conscientious employee. Carol was outgoing and gregarious with a sunny and welcoming disposition. She had a unique way of making all who cared for her feel special. She loved music and spending time with her family. She was happiest spending time in joy and laughter with her family and friends. She took great pride in her crafts, making potholders and doing cross-stitch.

She leaves behind her brother Edward Della Bitta and his wife Cynthia Eckert Della Bitta of Southington and 3 sisters: Ann Della Bitta and husband Mark Nickerson of Amherst, MA; Bernadette Della Bitta and John Nicholson of South Hadley, MA and Claudia DellaBitta of Southington. She also leaves 12 nieces and nephews and 11 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 4, 2012 at 10a.m. at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held on Friday February 3, 2012 from 4-7p.m. at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
