Bruce J. Dunbar

Bruce J. Dunbar, 86, of the Plantsville section of Southington, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 after a brief illness. He had been the loving husband of Sheila (Gallagher) Dunbar for over 30 years.

Bruce was born on November 7, 1934 in Bristol to the late Harold Hammett and Alvera (Bettua) Dunbar.

Bruce worked as an engineer at General Motors, retiring after many years of service. He loved ancestry and enjoyed exploring his family’s lineage. He also enjoyed camping, but most of all, he was a loyal and loving husband, father, stepfather and grandfather.

In addition to his wife Sheila, Bruce is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Beausoleil (Vern) and Heather Adamczyk (John) and 5 stepchildren, Christopher Rowe (Eileen), Danny Rowe (Alicia), Katie Dickinson (Erick), Maggie McLane (Chris) and Teresa Johnson (Toby) and his daughter-in-law, Missy Rowe; 9 grandchildren and 3 great - grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Harold H. Dunbar, Jr. (Merriam) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his stepson, Michael Rowe and 3 grandchildren.
