Barbara J. Schavone

Barbara J. Schavone, 78, of Southington passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday Dec. 7, 2012 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford.

Born October 21, 1934 in Southington to Veronica Zima and the late Frank Schavone, she had been a longtime Southington resident.

Barbara worked as a supervising purchasing agent for Philips Corporation in Cheshire, retiring in 1999 after many years of service. Throughout her career, she traveled and trained many other professionals. She loved all animals, especially dogs. Barbara will be remembered for her beauty, smile, sense of humor, happy go lucky attitude and the bounce in her step.

In addition to her mother Veronica, she is survived by her son Gary Michaels and his wife Sandy of Goshen; 3 grandchildren: Eli, Jessica and Sara; her brother George Zima and his wife Nancy of Southington and many nieces and nephews.
