Barbara A. Polance

Barbara A. (Walters) Polance, 65, of Southington died peacefully after a long illness on Sunday March 10, 2013 at the HCC at New Britain General. She had been the loving wife of Roger Polance for 41 years.

Born in Cincinnati, OH on Dec. 5, 1947 to the late Betty (Denike) Baribault, she had been a longtime Southington resident. Barbara retired from Aetna after many years of service.

In addition to her husband Roger, she is survived by her son Damen Polance and his wife Cathy of Tolland; her daughter Courtney Polance and her partner George Cole of Bristol; 3 grandchildren, Elijah, Nevaeh, and Canaan; her brother Leonard J. Baribault of Cairo, NY; 2 sisters Donna Mills of Cincinnati, OH and Rita LaFoe of Bristol and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her stepfather William Baribault.

Calling hours will be held from 10 -11 a.m. on Friday March 15, 2013 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville. Burial will immediately follow in South End Cemetery, Southington. Additional calling hours will be held on Thursday March 14, 2013 from 4 - 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
