Barbara Gugliotti

Barbara (Besek) Gugliotti, 83, of the Plantsville section of Southington died Sunday January 9, 2011 at HCC at New Britain General. She was the beloved wife of the late Nunzio Gugliotti, who passed away in 1979.

Born on August 23, 1927 in Meriden to the late George and Josephine (Rogoz) Besek, she had been a longtime Southington resident.

Barbara worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Clark Brothers, Simone Brothers, Total Auto Parts, and for her sons at Gugliotti Associates. After her retirement, she spent many years travelling and seeing many different parts of the world. She was an avid supporter of UCONN Women's Basketball and loved flowers and working in the garden. Most of all, she loved spending time with her 4 grandsons, who were the loves of her life.

She is survived by 4 children; David Gugliotti and his wife Patricia of Plantsville, Frances Gugliotti Ballard and her husband Stewart of Hong Kong, China, Carol Gugliotti of Plantsville and James Gugliotti and his wife Darlene of Plantsville, and 4 grandsons; David, Mitchell, A.J., and Garrett.

She was predeceased by an infant son, John Gugliotti, and her brother, George Besek Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 15, 2011 at 9:00am from the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville, with a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington.
