Audrey C. Evitts

Audrey (Cox) Evitts, 88, of Cheshire, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Vitas Healthcare in St. Mary's Hospital. She had been the loving wife of the late George L. Evitts for 42 years.

Born in Meriden on August 2, 1926 to the late Leonard and Florine (Scull) Cox, she had been a Cheshire resident since 1948.

Audrey graduated from Meriden High School, class of 1944.

Mrs. Evitts was an accomplished seamstress and maker of many quilts for friends and family.

She is survived by her son, Roger A. Evitts and his wife Kathleen, her daughter, Ann M. Kaczmarczyk and one granddaughter, Sarah Lynn Evitts, all of Cheshire and her beloved cats, Ginger, Pepper and Danny Boy. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Thomas J. Kaczmarczyk. She also leaves behind her extended family of schoolchildren that she transported over the 40 years of being their bus driver in Cheshire.
