Armilla J. Coury

Armilla J. (Brouillet) Coury, 94, of the Plantsville section of Southington and formerly of Cheshire, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She had been the beloved wife of the late Halleem Coury Jr. for 60 years.

Armilla was born on November 17, 1926 in Herscher, IL to the late Lloyd and Albia (Denault) Brouillet. She lived in New Jersey where she raised her children for 17 years. Armilla was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Boston College sports fan. She enjoyed all sports, especially playing golf. Armilla was hard working, kind, selfless and gave of herself to all.

Armilla is survived by her children, Richard Coury (Jane) of Wilbraham, MA; Thomas Coury (Jackie) of Blandford MA; James Coury (Geri Izzo) of Cheshire; John Coury (Laura) of Holiday, FL and Jean Mangini (Larry) of Plantsville; her grandchildren, Erika Coury, Eric Goodrich, Ray Mangini (Beth), Justin Coury, Melissa Rusate (Christopher), Christopher Coury (Carolann), Brian Coury (Haleigh DePalmer), Christine Jasiewicz (John) and Kelly Van Fleet (Rich); and her great-grandchildren, Anthony, Nathan, Emma, Juliana, Charlotte, Sophia, Myles and Cori. She is also survived by her sister, Thrasilla Janczak of Kankakee, IL, sister-in-law, Margaret Barker (Rick) of CA, brother-in-law, Richard Coury of CA and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her much loved cat Rosie. In addition to her husband Halleem, Armilla was predeceased by two children, Robert D. Coury and Mary A. Coury, her sweet granddaughter, Cheryl A. Coury and a brother, Vearl Brouillet.

She also leaves behind Nancy Wagner who for the past three years was a great friend and comfort to her.
