Arlene M. Hart, 86, of Southington passed away on Saturday April 21, 2012 after a brief illness. Born in New Britain on December 31, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Doty and Zelda Baker-Doty. Arlene was owner and operator of Arlene Hart School of Dance in Southington from 1957 until her retirement on June 13, 1998. Arlene was very involved in the Southington Community Theatre, L'Auberge d'Auberge Dinner Theatre, St. Joseph College, W. Hartford; Newington Theatre; St. Dominic Church Southington; Knights of Columbus, Southington; Holy Cross, New Britain and Marlboro Tavern Dinner Theatre, where she directed and choreographed many shows in the 70's and 80's. Her love of the arts brought her to New York where she refined her dancing skills taking classes and attending many Broadway Shows.
She is survived by a son Rudy Zenuh and wife Carolyn of Southington; a daughter Gale Smith-Negm of Berry, Kentucky; a son Mark Hart and wife Christine of West Hartford; a sister Judy Briggs and husband Bill of Plainville and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Arlene was predeceased by her daughter Sharon Zenuh, three sisters Doris Birdseye, Marge Monzillo and Vivian Baker and her brother Robert McCormick.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday April 28, 2012 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
