Anton "Tony" J. Bard, 67, of Southington and formerly of Cheshire, passed away after a long illness on Thursday June 19, 2014 at the Village Green of Bristol. He was the husband of his loving wife Susan (Matczak) Bard.
Tony was born in Southington on February 28, 1947, son of the late Louis and Theresa (Levesque) Bard. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He owned Gino's Apizza in Cheshire until 1981 and he owned and operated Bard Drywall from 1986 until his retirement. He cherished and loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and family. Tony had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed riding his bike. He also loved traveling and camping with his family.
In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by his daughter Karen (Bard) Prior and her husband Richard of Southington and their two sons Joshua and Matthew; his daughter Tammy (Bard) Pattison of Rocky Hill and her son Daniel and daughter Lauren; his son Michael Bard and his wife Amarachi of Plainville and his daughter Lindsey Bard of Southington and her son Aaron. He also leaves behind his brother, Alphy Bard and his wife Viviane of Moosup; his sister Louise (Bard) Davey and her husband David of Summerfield, FL; his brother, Carl Bard and his wife Sandy; his brother James Bard and his wife Debra; his mother-in-law Glenda Matczak; his sister-in-law Linda Matczak-Briggs and her husband Steve; his brother in-law John Matczak, all of Southington and many nieces, nephews and several dear friends. In addition to his parents, Tony was predeceased by his daughter Nicole Bard; his father-in-law Joe Matczak and his brother-in-law Joe Matczak.
Tony's family would like to thank the entire staff of Village Green and Hospice for the care and support they provided to both him and his family.

A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. on Tuesday June 24, 2014 at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S. Main St., Plantsville.
