Ann (Welch) Brennan, "Annie" 90, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2015. She had been the loving wife of the late Christopher J. Brennan for 55 years.
Born in Worcester, MA on July 11, 1925 to the late James E. and Teresa (McCarthy) Welch, she had been a longtime Southington resident.
Together with her husband, Mrs. Brennan founded Brennan Pools, Inc; in 1956, and retired after 30 years to New Smyrna Beach, FL. Upon her husband's death, she moved back to Southington to be a very big part of her grand-children's many activities & athletic events where she was endearingly known as "Big Annie." We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love & affection from the many people whose lives she touched over the years with her kindness, generosity, quick wit & charm.
Mrs. Brennan is survived by six children & their spouses: Ann Marie Brennan of Bristol CT; Terri & Patrick Freer of Southington; Christopher J. Brennan of Vass, NC; James & Nina Brennan of Southington; John & Susan Brennan of Winter Park, FL and Timothy & Leslie Brennan of Southington; 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her 3 siblings & their spouses; Therese & Clarke Agnew, Kathryn & Thomas Kelliher and James & Mary Welch.
We would like to thank all those that cared for her especially Dr. Phil Glynn, the Staff of St. Francis Cancer Center, especially Dr. Rathman, Loretta & Joy, Dr. Rivera & his staff, The entire staff of Southington Care Center who treated her like family, The Masonic Care, especially Kim Doerfler, Eurocare & Dr. Richard Scarlett who had a special place in her heart.
