With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the news of the peaceful passing of Angela “Angie” (DePastino) D’Angelo on January 18, 2025 at the Connecticut Baptist Home in Meriden, CT. Angie, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, graced this world with 91 beautiful years filled with love and joy.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Angie was the cherished eldest daughter of Damiano and Dorothy (Roberts) DePastino. Her early years were a testament to resilience and love, marked by her time at the Klingberg Children’s Home in New Britain and her devotion to caring for four of her siblings, fostering unbreakable family bonds. Afterward, she settled in Southington, Connecticut, where she built a life brimming with love, treasured memories, and the joy of family.
In 1950, Angie married Pasco “Pucky” D’Angelo, who, upon their very first meeting, confidently declared, “I am going to marry you!” Though she laughed and brushed him off at first, fate had other plans. Together, they built a beautiful life and brought three cherished children into the world: Michael, John, and Patricia. Angie found purpose in her career as an LPN at Bradley Memorial Hospital, where her coworkers became like a second family. Her insatiable curiosity for knowledge shone brightly through her love of non-fiction books and her eagerness to learn. Always embracing new challenges, she also excelled in computer skills and held numerous roles at the Southington Senior Center, inspiring those around her with her dedication and warmth.
Angie’s vibrant spirit and gracious presence lit up every room she entered. She loved dancing the polka and was actively involved in polka groups, spreading joy and laughter wherever she went. Her zest for life and radiant energy left an unforgettable impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Above all, Angie cherished her family. Her grandchildren, Becky and Raymond, held a special place in her heart, and she poured her love and time into nurturing and guiding them. Becky was Angie’s greatest gift, and their time together was filled with sleepovers, adventures, and countless memories. Her love extended with unmatched joy to her great-grandson, Chayse, whom she adored beyond words.
Angie is survived by her loving children, Michael “Mickey” D’Angelo of Southbury, CT, and Patricia “Trish” D’Angelo of Terryville, CT; her cherished granddaughter Becky, her grandson Raymond, and her great-grandson Chayse. She is also survived by her brother, Guy DePastino, and his wife Winnie, as well as her dear sister-in-law, Constance D’Angelo, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Angie was predeceased by her husband, Pucky D’Angelo, her son, John D’Angelo, her sisters Antoniette Longo, Rose Marie DeMarco, and Gayle Secondo, and her brothers Domenic DePastino, John DePastino, and Raymond DePastino, along with many other dear brothers- and sisters-in-law.
