Adelina 'Lee' C. (Cari) Smith, 91,of the Marion section of Southington passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday January 31, 2012. She had been the loving wife of Richard Smith for 56 years.
Born on August 17, 1920 in Southington to the late Louis and Elizabeth (Ferrucci) Cari, she had been a lifelong Southington resident.
Adelina was an active member of the Plantsville Congregational Church serving on the Board of Deacons, working with the Nursery School and teaching Sunday School. She was a volunteer at HCC at Bradley Memorial Auxiliary and Bread for Life. She was an avid reader, loved traveling, bowling, and animals, especially her pets. Adelina was a wonderful wife and mother who always put her family first.
In addition to her husband Richard, she is survived by 3 daughters; Marcia Smith of Southington; Elaine Brown and her husband Richard of Henniker, NH and Marilyn Bjorklund and her husband Scott of Terryville. She was predeceased by her daughter Nancy Carole Smith, her sister Victoria Chace and her brothers: Albert, Frank, Alfred, Joseph and James Cari.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m on Saturday February 4, 2012 at the Plantsville Congregational Church, 109 Church St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in South End Cemetery, Southington.
